An easy argument can be made that Deuteronomy is the most important book of the Old Testament. The book represents the last words of Moses, three extended speeches where he calls the people to love God. More importantly, these are the words of God, and they are given to his people in love. They both tell us the way of love and provide the foundational promises that God is committed to working in and through His people to bring about His saving purposes. Over all of this, Deuteronomy reveals the loving nature of the one true God. For all its significance and all of its richness, it is altogether possible that you have never heard a sermon on Deuteronomy. In this study, we are going to try to make up the deficit.
